    School Council

At Fairfield First we believe in democracy and our School Council is built on this. Our school councillors act as pupil voice for the rest of the school. We are very proud of the decisions that the children make to continue developing our amazing school!

    Eco-friendly School

Fairfield is committed to being an Eco-friendly school. As part of our values and ethos, we show compassion by looking after our beautiful school grounds. As part of Learning Outside the Classroom, our children are taught the importance of caring for our world. We tackle the issues of litter, water, school grounds, healthy living, biodiversity and also looking at the world around us.

We look after our environment by monitoring the wildlife, and making sure that our school grounds are safe for the animals. Take a look at our wildlife cameras to see what lives on our school grounds...

    Our recent initiatives

    - Whole school outreach sessions  from Canals and Rivers Trust, the  RSPB and Severn Trent Water.
    - Participation in Waste Week to raise awareness of plastic pollution and conducted a Twitter Poll to encourage our families to reduce their single use plastic waste.
    - Dedicated year round gardening club who meet on a weekly basis after school. Recent food crops have included, potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries and peas.
    - We compost our fruit and veg scraps from playtime and lunchtime snacks, we water plant pots and containers around school and ensure that we have varied habitats available within the school grounds including our very own Buggingham Palace, bird feeders and a Buzz Stop for busy pollinators.

    Play Leaders

Our Play Leaders are here to help the children around school to play effectively together at break and lunch times. Their roles are to set challenges for the children to take part in, and teach the children in KS1 how to play different games and work collaboratively, also acting as 'buddies' for children looking for their friends to play with. Our Play Leaders are Play Leader trained, and are recognisable on the playground by their Play Leader badges and coats.
